Living in The Greens
The Greens was one of Emaar's first freehold apartment communities, launched in the early 2000s as part of Emirates Living. It sits just off Sheikh Zayed Road, opposite Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City, with Emirates Golf Club on one side and Barsha Heights on the other. Its neighbour, The Views, adds a group of taller towers beside the golf course.
The Greens itself is made up of low-rise buildings grouped into small complexes, each set around a shared pool and garden. More than twenty years of planting means the communal gardens are now mature and shady, which is unusual for an apartment community this close to Sheikh Zayed Road and its traffic.
People live here for the location and the setting: a walk across to Dubai Internet City and its metro station, quick access to the Marina, and a quiet, green environment once you are inside. The buildings are older, so finishes vary and some unrenovated units feel dated. Visitor parking is tight, and the roads around the community entrances get busy at rush hour.

Walk to work and metro
Dubai Internet City metro station is roughly a 15-minute walk, and the offices of Internet City and Media City are just across Sheikh Zayed Road.
- 02
Pools and mature gardens
Each complex shares a pool and landscaped garden, and there are small parks, a children's park beside a pond and a dog park within the community.
- 03
Shops within walking distance
The Greens Souk and The Greens Village centre have a Choithrams supermarket, pharmacies, cafés and restaurants, all reachable on foot.

Next to Emirates Golf Club
Emirates Golf Club, home of the Dubai Desert Classic, is right next door, with restaurants and facilities open to non-members as well as golfers.
Lifestyle and amenities
Life in The Greens is more on foot than in most Dubai communities. Residents walk to the supermarket and cafés in The Greens Village, to the restaurants around The Greens Souk, and across to the metro. The Backyard community garden and the dog park are regular meeting points, and the gardens between buildings are busy with children in the cooler evenings.
Dubai Marina and JBR beach are about 10 minutes away by car, and Mall of the Emirates is about the same. Barsha Heights next door adds more restaurants, gyms and hotels, and Emirates Golf Club offers golf and a choice of restaurants a short walk from many buildings.
Getting around
The Greens is one of the few Emirates Living communities with a metro station in walking distance. Dubai Internet City station on the Red Line is across Sheikh Zayed Road, roughly a 15-minute walk from most buildings, and feeder buses run through the area. By car, residents use Sheikh Zayed Road and First Al Khail Street, with Al Khail Road a little further away. The approaches to Sheikh Zayed Road get congested in the morning peak.

Schools and healthcare
Regent International School, a British-curriculum school from Foundation Stage to Year 13, is inside The Greens. Emirates International School – Meadows and Dubai British School are a short drive away in Emirates Living, and GEMS World Academy and other schools in Al Barsha are around 10 minutes by car. There are nurseries in The Greens and Barsha Heights. For healthcare there are clinics within the community, and Saudi German Hospital and Al Zahra Hospital in Al Barsha are about 10–15 minutes away.
Property in The Greens
The Greens is mainly studios and one- to three-bedroom apartments, with a few larger units and duplexes. Layouts are generous compared with many newer buildings, often with balconies and storage, though kitchens and bathrooms in unrenovated units can feel dated. Units overlooking the pool or the gardens are the most popular; those facing Sheikh Zayed Road or the perimeter roads are noisier.
Tenants are mostly professionals working in Internet City, Media City and Barsha Heights, along with couples and small families, and that steady demand is what draws investors. All stock is ready and resale. Ask about the building's maintenance record and any recent upgrades, and check the parking allocation, since some buildings have limited spaces.

Frequently asked questions
Is The Greens freehold?
Yes. Foreign buyers can own apartments in The Greens outright, with title registered at the Dubai Land Department.
How far is the metro from The Greens?
Dubai Internet City station is roughly a 15-minute walk from most buildings, crossing Sheikh Zayed Road by the station's footbridge. It is also a very short taxi ride.
What is the difference between The Greens and The Views?
They are neighbours within Emirates Living. The Greens is low-rise, with buildings set around pools and gardens, while The Views is made up of taller towers next to the golf course, many with fairway or lake views.
Is The Greens good for families?
Yes, particularly for smaller families. Regent International School is inside the community, and there are parks and play areas between the buildings. Larger families sometimes find the apartments too small and look at villas in The Springs or The Meadows nearby.
